A 30-second promotional video for "Nobunaga No Shinobi" was released on Sept. 18 on its official YouTube channel. The anime series will be aired on two networks in Japan in October, alongside the release of its 18th issue by Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine.
Before being adapted into an anime, "Nobunaga No Shinobi" is originally a manga series created by Naoki Shigeno. It first started as manga when published in 2008 by Young Animal, Crunchy Roll reported. After eight years, its 10th volume and 18th issue will be published on Sept. 29 by Hakusensha.
Its animated series will begin airing on Tokyo MX on Oct. 4 at 9:55 pm and on TV Aichi on Oct. 8 at 3:20 am, Anime News Network reported. Its showing schedules on the said TV networks will air every Tuesday and Saturday respectively.
The same publication previously reported the list of names of its cast members in the upcoming TV anime. The cast includes Inori Minase as Chidori, Wataru Hatano as Oda Nobunaga, Kappei Yamaguchi as Hideyoshi, Ayumu Murase as Suzeko, Chiaki Takahashi as Kicho, Suzuko Mimori as Oichi, and Rie Kugimiya as Nene.
In a recent report, the list included additional voice actors Yuji Ueda as Saiko Tatsuoki, Daisuke Hirakawa as Takanaka Hanbe, Shuta Morishima as Maeda Toshiie, Naoko Matsui as Matsu, Toru Ohkawa as Shibata Katsuie, Tomokazu Seki as Mori Yoshinari and Fukushi Ochiai as Imagawa Ujizane.
"Nobunaga No Shinobi" revolves around the story of a young female ninja named Chidori who aims to help warlord Oda Nobunaga to achieve his goal of conquering and unifying Japan amidst the Warring States era. It is a typical anime comedy which features the bubbly ninja Chidori and her adventures during the said period.
The TV series is directed by Akitaro Daichi and animated by TMS Entertainment. Meanwhile, Junko Yamanaka is designing the characters for animation. An "Episode 0" of the said TV series was first screened during the Anime Japan 2016 last March. The said episode became available online in April
