Apple could be launching the MacBook Pro 2016 and the Macbook Air soon as several industry insiders believe considering that the year is almost over.
The iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2 have already been revealed by the Cupertino-based tech giant and fans are now waiting for their new laptops. Apple's MacBook Pro 2016 seems to be the most anticipated considering that it would be their most powerful laptop yet to be released.
Besides the said device, Apple could also be making a MacBook Air 2016. IHS Markit Technology's Rhoda Alexander told Forbes that the production of the MacBook Pro 2016 and the MacBook Air has already started in Q2 2016 and could be launched soon, Mic has learned.
There are two variants of the MacBook Pro 2016 expected to be launched in October 2016. One is a 13.3-inch and one 15.4-inch variant which is expected to carry higher-end specs under the hood although there seems to be no announcements yet from Apple themselves as the supposed release date closes by.
Speculations for the delay state that Apple will be using the Intel Kaby Lake processor instead of the current gen chips. This could have pushed back the development of Apple's laptop which could explain the delay in the MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air release date.
Apple's MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to feature Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C ports plus a Touch ID sensor, Gamenguide reported. The Touch ID could be integrated with the rumored additional OLED screen on top of the new keyboard on the laptop.
There are also rumors that the MacBook Pro 2016 will be ditching the standard 3.5mm jack as well. Apple already removed the jack from the iPhone 7 and there is a huge chance that they would do it again in their new products including the MacBook Air.
Fans will have to wait for the official MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air announcement which is expected around October before it can roll out to the stores. The specs and features would hopefully be confirmed by then to help customers decide if they need to buy a new laptop or not.
