Actor Misha Collins recently revealed some juicy details about the "Supernatural" Season 12 plot. For the most part, his character, Castiel, is going to be even more badass in the new season, and he might forge surprising alliances to defeat evil. We've rounded up everything you need to know about Castiel in "Supernatural" Season 12.
Castiel and Crowley v. Lucifer
Castiel is hunting down Lucifer in "Supernatural" Season 12, and he's going to make some alliances in order to bring down the big bad.
"Castiel and Crowley have kind of teamed up in season 12 and are working together," Collins told EW. Crowley is definitely gunning to defeat Lucifer, especially since he's the only one standing in the way of Crowley's desire to reclaim his throne.
Castiel gets super-powered
With a big mission on his agenda, Castiel is going to need everything he's got in order to win. In an interview with Hypable, Collins teased that his character is going to tap into his full potential.
"For a long time on the show, Cas has been in one way or another cobbled, because the writers didn't want him to be too powerful, they didn't want him to be able to solve Sam and Dean's problems with the snap of his fingers all the time," Collins said.
He added, "I'd like to see him get his power back, and go back to playing with him as Cas from season 4."
Castiel and Mary's interaction
There's a new addition to the family this season and it's none other than Sam and Dean's mother, Mary. The Winchester brothers basically grew up without their mother, so having her back is a whole new experience for them. The transition won't be easy, but Castiel will be there to help the family.
"He is pushing them [Sam and Dean] to confront the emotional bomb that is their mother showing up," Collins said about his role in the Winchester family reunion.
Castile and Mary are said to have a rather interesting interaction in Season 12, and viewers are already curious to find out!
"Supernatural" Season 12 will premiere on Oct. 13 on The CW.
