Many fans of Rebecca Ferguson think that she is the perfect fit for the role of Carol Danvers in the female superhero movie ''Captain Marvel.'' Her present commitments with several movies may have made the decision makers at Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) think about Brie Larson as the perfect choice.
Almost a year back, the name of Ferguson came up as a frontrunner to play the role of Danvers after her role as Ilsa Faust in the 2015 American action spy film ''Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation'' was appreciated by many.
According to Cinemablend, even though the actress did not come up openly about her desire to play the role, the fans were hoping that she should be offered the role. This movie made $682.3 million in the box-office and she got a chance to share screen space with Tom Cruise as IMF agent Ethan Hunt in the movie.
Ferguson's calendar for 2016 and 2017 is full of five movies already lined up that is probably the reason for her not to consider the role of Carol Danvers. Ferguson is currently filming movie entitled ''Life'' and the filming for this movie is going on. The upcoming American science fiction thriller film is based on the six-member crew of the International Space Station who are asked to study a sample from Mars to find the existence of extra-terrestrial life. Ferguson's role is not yet revealed, however, she is the female lead of the movie against Ryan Reynolds who will play the role of Jack Harrison.
She is set to play the role of Anna Watson in the movie ''The Girl on the Train'' which will be released on Oct. 7 in the United States. She chose this American mystery thriller drama over ''Gambit'' where she had to play the role of assassin Belladonna Boudreaux a.k.a. Bella. This was also perceived that she does not have an interest in playing superhero movies as all the movies she signed in the last few years were story-based intense movies which revolved around different aspects of life.
''The Snowman'' another British crime drama movie is based on a novel of the same name by Jo Nesbø. In this movie, she will share screen space with Michael Fassbender who plays the role of Detective Harry Hole and investigates the disappearance of a woman. This movie will be released on Oct. 13, 2017 in the United States.
Meanwhile, the plot of the movie ''Captain Marvel'' is not yet revealed. However, the storyline will have the flavor of the comic books. According to a review on Heroes Direct, Danvers is a powerful character and is capable of leading a team of heroes.
Now going by the abovementioned list, it was impossible for Ferguson to squeeze in the schedule of ''Captain Marvel'' even though the filming of the movie is expected to start only in 2017. Watch this video which talks about the fans wanting Ferguson as ''Captain Marvel.''
