"Pokemon Sun and Moon," the highly anticipated addition to the "Pokemon" Nintendo 3DS gaming franchise, will soon introduce a slew of new characters and creatures located in the new Alola region. Prior to the game's release, Nintendo prepared a special treat for avid players with its free legendaries giveaway.
The month of October may mark a celebration month for festivals and holidays such as the October Beerfest and Halloween. However, loyal "Pokemon" fans may consider the said month as the penultimate period before "Pokemon Sun and Moon" hits the gaming market. As a special treat, Nintendo launched a free giveaway promotion that includes the release of four Pokemon creatures.
Legendaries such as Hoopa, Keldeo, Darkrai, as well as Volcanion will be available to all players for the whole month of October, according to Game Zone. Gamers can acquire Keldeo (level 100), a creature with the "Justified" ability, through the standard Mystery Gift option.
However, the three other legendaries require a specific character code for a gamer to redeem the said Pokemon creatures. The Darkrai (level 100) and Hoopa (level 50) can both be acquired with the game codes "DARKRAI20" and "2016HOOPA," respectively. As for Volcanion (level 70), the said character's code will be unveiled on Oct. 10, Monday.
Each of the four free legendaries features different attack moves, special items and capabilities. The Keldeo can attack other Pokemons with its double kick or bubble beam moves. Nightmares and bad dreams serve as the Darkrai's forte, while the magician type Hoopa can "astonish" its opponents during Pokemon battles.
In other news, The Pokemon Company and Nintendo are both expected to unveil the latest news about "Pokemon Sun and Moon" on Oct. 4, Tuesday, according to Nintendo News. At this time, it is still unclear if new gameplay features or new Pokemon creatures will be revealed. However, fans are expecting to see a new trailer for the upcoming 3DS game.
"Pokemon Sun and Moon" will be released on Nov. 18 in Japan and North America for the Nintendo 3DS platform. Meanwhile, the game's European launch has been set on Nov. 23. Watch the game's trailer below:
