Mike Hudson quit his job one year ago and is now living in a van located in rural Greece. Hudson maintains his popular blog Vandog Traveller as he travels throughout Europe in his converted van.

In one year Hudson's adventures have included wild dogs chasing him in Bulgaria, attending little-known musical festivals in rural Spain, and hopping across rooftops in Hungary. He has also enjoyed singing sessions in front of campfires, preparing toast without using a toaster, and locating water to wash his clothes.

Currently 26-year-old Hudson is living in an eco-community in rural Greece. When the weather gets warmer he will travel through the Peloponnese Mountains.

The plan occurred one day to Hudson as he was working at his day job in England. He started daydreaming about traveling throughout Europe in a van.

Then Hudson had to do research bout living in the van. He also had to learn about issues such as getting water from wells, and acquiring electricity from solar panels.

The van itself cost $4,000, and Hudson's conversion cost another $4,000. The conversion of the van took about four months, according to Daily Mail. Hudson also had to plan for unexpected events, such as the van breaking down.

One of the most difficult parts of Hudson's trip has been updating his blog. It has involved taking steps such as installing an antenna on top of a hill, so he could make a post.

Hudson hopes to continue his trip until his initial savings of $7,000 runs out, according to Yahoo. He has gotten some financial help from his website and donations from hitchhikers, for example.
