It will be a November release date for the MacBook Pro 2016, a new report suggested, adding that Apple is likely to announce the long-delayed laptop refresh on October 27. Rumors also say that the introduction will include new iMac and MacBook Air models.
9to5Mac is proposing that Apple will make its quarterly earnings call on the last Tuesday of the month or October 25. The figures to be presented are expected as a slight downgrade from the sales registered in the same period last year. In the September quarter of 2015, Apple's Q3 revenues totaled to $51.5 billion but this 2016 the numbers will only reach a high of $47.5 billion.
While the expected sales remain impressive by any standard, the retreat will likely disappoint Apple shareholders and to cushion the impact the tech giant will provide the reason for optimism and some bits of celebration. For 9to5Mac, it will be the new Macs.
As the oversupply of leaks and rumors in the past months have indicated, an iMac upgrade is to be expected as well as a MacBook Air jump that in numerous blog reports was pictures as bearing but minor specs and feature tweaks. The headliner would be the long-delayed MacBook Pro 2016.
According to iTech Post, MacBook Pro fans are in for a huge upgrade. Those frequently mentioned - dynamic OLED touch bar that replaces the physical function keys, Touch ID on the power button and AMD Polaris 11 GPU - will likely be part of the package. But it remains unclear if the MBP 2016 unboxing will reveal Intel Skylake or Kaby Lake as the main engine.
The same report also pointed out the possibility of the high-end Retina MacBook Pro 2016 rendering in 5K screen resolution as speculations are rife that the MBP form factor will exclusively get the AMD Polaris graphics card.
And the latter hardware upgrade seems to confirm the prediction offered by analysts - that the MacBook Pro 2016 will slimmer and lighter than even as both the Intel CPU and AMD GPU support such an incredibly trimmed down device construction.
Further increasing the projected sexiness of the next-gen MacBook Pros is the possibility of Apple rolling out the product in Jet Black finish, iTech Post. The same color option was first introduced with the iPhone 7/7 Plus and became an instant hit, proving to be the new Rose Gold.
As for the actual release date, while it's highly likely that the October 27 unveiling will be followed by an immediate global rollout it is safer to assume that the MacBook Pro 2016, powered by macOS Sierra, will debut no later than November.
