Ex-soldier Wang Jianlin, founder of property firm Dalian Wanda and China's richest man in 2015, is again China's richest man in 2016 but with a personal fortune this time of $32.1 billion.
Alibaba's Jack Ma is second richest at $30.6 billion (up 41% from 2015) while Pony Ma of internet and online gaming giant Tencent is worth $24.6 billion.
The list of China's richest was compiled by Hurun Report, which has published this Midas list for the past 18 years.
The report said there are now 594 dollar billionaires in China, placing China ahead of the United States' 535 billionaires. None of China's super-rich made it into the global top 20, however.
The world's richest person is Microsoft founder Bill Gates with a fortune worth $89.2 billion in 2015, or over twice that of Wang's. He was followed by Carlos Slim, $77.1 billion and Warren Buffet, $72.7 billion.
