Z. Hera, whose real name is Ji Hye-Ran, recently opened up about the on-screen chemistry she shared with her "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo" co-star Baekhyun. The two Kpop idols portrayed Park Soon-Duk and 10th Prince Wang Eun, respectively.
The 16th episode of "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo," which aired on Oct. 18, Tuesday, showed the tragic death of Park Soon-Duk after she blocked the sword intended for her husband. Devastated by his wife's death, Wang Eun begged the 4th prince Wang So (Lee Joon-Gi) to end his life.
Not long after the 16th episode aired, Z. Hera candidly talked about her experience working with the EXO member. The former stated that she could serenely take part in the filming due to Baekhyun's playful side, according to local newsoutlet Xports News, as cited by All Kpop.
"I was able to comfortably engage in filming due to Baekhyun," said Z. Hera. "He's very playful, and we had much fun while filming. Also, I'm glad our chemistry was able to show on-screen."
Z. Hera then revealed that Baekhyun's international fans often visit her social media accounts and left several encouraging comments. She added, "I was also able to feel the popularity of 'Scarlet Heart: Ryeo'."
The singer-turned-actress also uncovered the humorous story behind the death scene. In a separate interview with Star News, she stated that the said scene was extremely difficult since both of them had to lay down on the sand for a couple of hours.
Since they were laying down on the sand for so long, Baekhyun apparently ate too much sand that he jokingly said that he felt like he was kissing it. Even though it was difficult, Z. Hera stressed that it the filming was indeed fun.
While Z. Hera experienced difficulty trying to act dead, EXO's Baekhyun apparently had no issue since he decided to go to sleep instead. She clarified that the EXO member had another scheduled the day before the death scene that is why he fell asleep.
