Lee Joon-Gi has nothing but praise for his "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo" co-star. The 34-year-old star, who plays 4th Prince Wang So in the SBS series, lauded EXO's Baekhyun for his dynamic portrayal of a playful prince Wang Eun.
On Oct. 22, Saturday, Namoo Actors shared a behind-the-scene video of Lee and Baekhyun during the filming of the 16th episode of "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo." The two-minute video, which was published on Naver TV Cast, shows the former singing a goodbye song to the EXO member before they film the death scene.
"The 10th prince Wang Eun is gonna die today," Lee says in the video. "It's heartbreaking. At the end, I will take Wang Eun's life."
Lee added that he hopes the viewers can feel the sad emotions while watching the death scene as Baekhyun really worked hard to pull it off. The video also shows the former giving advice to the latter on how to effectively portray the said scene.
Right after the two filmed the particular scene, Lee cannot stop praising Baekhyun's performance. He then proudly reenacts the way the latter carried out the scene.
The 16th episode, which aired on Oct. 18, showed the tragic death of Park Soon-Duk (Z. Hera) after she blocked the sword intended for Wang Eun. Devastated by his wife's death, the 10th prince begged the 4th prince to end his life.
Not long after the 16th episode aired, Z. Hera shared the hilarious story behind the death scene. In an interview with Star News, she said that the scene was extremely difficult since both of them had to lay down on the sand for a couple of hours.
"We were laying down there for so long, Baekhyun oppa ate so much sand that he jokingly said he felt like he was kissing the sand," Z. Hera added. "But even though it was difficult, it was fun."
