Tim Tebow is fully aware of the criticism he is getting at the moment as he tries to make a successful shift from pro football to pro baseball. While his passion seems to be his guide, fulfilling his baseball dream just got harder with word that his father, Bob Tebow, is suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
Tim Tebow is no stranger to harsh criticism which dates back to his days in the NFL. He was hit for holding a low pass completion rate, something that many believe led to his failure to hit it big in the pro football circuit.
With no team taking a chance on the former Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Tebow curiously found his way to baseball. Apparently, the Fil-American was actually into baseball and football when he was still at Nease High.
At the time, Tim Tebow was a big-swinging cleanup hitter where he could send softballs about 450-feet from the home plate, Bleacher Report reported. It was a rare talent which could have been something had he chosen to focus on baseball.
As everyone knows, Tebow went the other way and followed his football dream. He did succeed in the University of Florida but somehow fell short when he joined the pros. He got his short stints of fame with the Denver Broncos but fate took a different course when he was moved from one NFL team to the other.
Tebow now finds himself trying to turn back time and see if the route to baseball is still available. He does have all the time to spare until it was revealed that his father is dealing with an illness.
Tim Tebow admits that learning that his father (Bob Tebow) was dealing with Parkinson’s disease got him pretty emotional, People.com reported. Could this force the 29-year-old to re-assess his priorities?
Seeing how Tebow has valued life, it may be about time he takes care of the people he loves. He has been a champion with others in need. Right now, however, Tim needs to spend more time with his sick father – something that could eventually leave baseball to the delight of low-balling critics.
