The Jet Black iPhone 7 immediately became a hot item the moment Apple introduced the new handset finish. Essentially, the new flavor is now the Rose Gold of 2014 and is mostly hard to find. But Apple is reportedly bent on introducing another stunner - the Jet White iPhone 7 that likely will prove hotter.
Per the latest report from Japanese blog MacOtakara, the tech giant is rumored to add the sixth iPhone 7 color option that is glossy and sexy like the Jet Black version only in white finish. The report did not mention a specific release date for the variant, Apple Insider said, though the debut will likely coincide with the holiday season.
But that is if the report will prove accurate as MacOtakara itself has noted that the source of its information is not too reliable. In the past, the Apple-focused blog has made a name for providing advanced information on upcoming Apple products and services. For instance, according to MacRumors, it was the same site that offered a first glimpse of the Jet Black iPhone 7.
It could be a miss, however, this time as Apple Insider noted on its report that producing the Jet White iPhone 7 en masse is not easy. "It (the manufacturing) requires a nine-step anodization and polishing process," the report said.
And even if the plan was already in place prior to the iPhone 7 intro, the same report is not convinced that Apple will disrupt the Jet Black craze it created too early. If indeed the Jet White iPhone 7 is in the pipeline, the release button is likely to get activated once the overall demand for the latest iOS flagship phone has started to cool down, Apple Insider said.
Yet the Jet Black flagship flavor also makes for a compelling case. For one, "a white iPhone 7 would look insanely hot," according to BGR. Recall that when the all-white and glass-covered iPhone 4 hit the market, it became a revenue generator for Apple as the variant turned out as fan favorite.
So releasing a Jet White iPhone 7 is actually brilliant on Apple's part. As BGR noted: "It's ... possible that Apple saw how quickly folks took to the Jet Black iPhone 7 model and are simply trying to capitalize on that as quickly as they can."
