With tvN's "The K2" hitting more than 5 percent in viewership ratings, lead stars Ji Chang-Wook and Yoona will fulfill their rating promise. The on-screen couple is expected to invite 100 fans for free coffee and autograph session.
The good news came to light when tvN released an official statement that announced Ji and Yoona's plans for the rating promise, according to local newsoutlet TV Report, as cited by Soompi. The two Hallyu stars plan to give out coffee to 100 viewers in Gangnam District on Nov. 11 at 4:00 PM (KST).
It is said that the Girls' Generation member will personally serve the coffee to 100 viewers. Lucky fans will also get to take photos with the stars together and received autographs.
It can be recalled that Yoona and Ji previously promised that they will gift 100 fans with a coffee treat should the tvN drama surpass the 5 percent rating mark. Given the political drama's popularity, "The K2" was able to reach a viewership share of 5.4 percent on Nov. 5.
With only two episodes left, many fans were hoping "The K2" will exceed 10 percent in viewership share. Interestingly, Yoona and Ji also made a promise to release a virtual tour of their respective homes once the show surpasses 10 percent rating mark.
Meanwhile, Ji recently expressed his deepest gratitude to the fans and viewers of "The K2". Speaking before a group of local reporters, he sends his sincere appreciation to all who acknowledge his hard work in the tvN series.
"While I didn't select this production because I expected to be lauded, I want to thank everyone for their praise," Naver TV quoted Ji as saying. "I will continue to work hard so I can keep on hearing praise."
In "The K2," Ji plays an employee under the JSS Security, Kim Je-Ha, who is a former mercenary soldier. He gets entangled in a political family that is full of secrets after Choi Yoo Jin (Song Yun-Ah) employed him to guard her husband's illegitimate daughter, Go An-Na (Yoona).
