Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jerome Flynn were recently spotted filming several scenes for "Game of Thrones" Season 7. The stars were seen with a huge crew and set on the battlements of the Trujillo Castle in Caceres, Spain.
On Nov. 21, Monday, the show's cast and crew members reportedly traveled to Spain to film some pivotal scenes for "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Along with the report, a few cuts from the filming set, which was obtained by The Daily Mail, showed Jaime Lannister (Waldau) and his ally Ser Bronn (Flynn) walking along the Trujillo Castle.
The on-set photos have fueled fan speculation that the Trujillo Castle will serve as the ancestral stronghold of House Lannister called Casterly Rock. Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) will reportedly lead the Unsullied army in an assault on the Lannister's home turf.
Fans can also expect Jaime Lannister and Ser Bronn fights in tandem during one of the Season 7's major field battles. The scene being referred to will reportedly feature Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), her three dragons, the Dothraki army and a plethora of "Game of Thrones" characters who have yet to be united in the fantasy series.
Not much is known about the season's massive field battle aside from the fact that it will be filmed in Malpartida de Cáceres, Spain with more than 100 horses and 500 extras trained by the British military.
The news comes days after HBO programming president Casey Bloys stated early talks for a "Game of Thrones" prequel are already underway. In a sit-down interview with The Wrap, Bloys admitted he has been discussing potential prequel ideas with creator George R.R. Martin.
"We've talked very, very kind of high-level, like, 'Oh, that would be interesting, a prequel would be interesting, are there areas that make more sense?'" he said. "But we haven't - no one has put pen to paper - yet. It's still pretty early on."
Bloys added "Game of Thrones" is such an incredible world with such great property, stressing that it would be insane not to at least explore the idea of some sort of prequel. He revealed HBO has yet to pinpoint an exact point of time to concentrate on from the vast Westeros history for a potential spin-off.
