Living life under the constant scrutiny of the media and royal watchers may be very stressful for Kate Middleton. Recently, Prince William revealed the Duchess of Cambridge's avid interest in the popular coloring books that many adults use to de-stress.
The stress of supporting the Duke of Cambridge, as well as caring for their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, appears to have pushed the Duchess of Cambridge to release her frustrations in creative ways. Kate's interest in adult coloring books was revealed by Prince William during a conversation with illustrator Johanna Basford at Buckingham Palace.
Basford recently received an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) honor from Prince William for her services to art and entrepreneurship. An illustrator of the popular adult coloring book "Secret Garden," Basford had a short chat with the Duke where he stated that his wife Kate enjoyed the color-in book.
Recounting the conversation to local reporters at the event, the "Secret Garden" illustrator shared that Prince William's revelation about the Duchess' coloring hobby "was really sweet," Telegraph quoted Basford as saying. She added, "I think we've just seen the coloring community flourish."
Meanwhile, speculations have been rife about Prince William and Kate's potential divorce. Having stayed together for more than five years, several reports indicated that the royal couple's relationship may be at risk given the constant media attention coupled with the growing demands for the Duke to assume a more active role in royal duties.
Royal critics claimed that Prince William attended a smaller number of royal engagements as compared to other members of the royal family. Despite the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wish to live a quiet life in Anmer Hall with their two children, many critics are expecting Prince William to assume a bigger role in the coming years.
In other news, Prince William conveyed his support for Prince Harry's earlier decision to release an announcement requesting for privacy given his relationship with Meghan Markle. A Kensington Palace representative shared in a statement released to The Independent that the Duke "absolutely understands" his brother's concerns about privacy and is supportive of Prince Harry's recent actions.
A Kensington Palace statement issued on behalf of Prince Harry was released in early November that confirmed the royal prince's relationship with the "Suits" actress. Learn more about Prince Harry and Markle's romance in the clip below:
