BLACKPINK "Running Man" episode air date is on Dec. 18 as the YG's latest girl group is currently filming with the regular members.
The producer of "Running Man" Jung Chul Min showered the YG girl group with praises. He explained his reason for casting.
"I saw Black Pink on 'Weekly Idol.' They gave off a raw vibe and made me wonder how it'd be if they were not in a studio but were running around in a wide space. Black Pink were fun and bright. Because they're new to variety, they had an unpredictable charm. You can look forward to it."
According to All Kpop, YG Entertainment told MyDaily, "Black Pink will be on 'Running Man'. They're filming right now today (28th)." The girls are currently filming the show in Jeolla-Bukdo's Jeonju.
The details on the episode are scarce. This is the second variety show that BLACKPINK will appear to. They first appeared in "MBC's Weekly Idol". However, Fans may start to see more of BLACKPINK in other shows other music programs soon.
In an interview with Ilgan Sports, BLACKPINK was asked why they do not appear in shows other than music programs, to which main rapper Jennie Kim answered, "We want to show a perfect performance to make up for the long time (six years) we have been practicing as trainees. So we want to actively take part in music programs. We believe that we can join other shows once we can showcase our perfect performances on stage."
It is very rare for YG artists to appear in variety programs. 2NE1 and BIGBANG also did not frequent variety shows. As BLACKPINK gives off a mysterious vibe, viewers are probably curious about their personality and how they are in front of the camera and if they can be funny despite their strong and swag image.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK's rival TWICE also appeared as guest in "Running Man" and their episode will air on Dec. 4.
