Kids from the 90's will surely be excited to know what CLAMP has prepared for everyone this upcoming year. After 20 years since the anime "Cardcaptor Sakura" has debuted, CLAMP's animators have confirmed that heroine Sakura Kinomoto is coming back to the screens with her friends Keroberos, Yukito Tsukishiro, Syaoran Li and Tomoyo Daidōji.
The Japanese anime "Cardcaptor Sakura," which debuted in 1998, will again be conquering the small screen in 2018, as reported by Comic Book. The sequel entitled "Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc" will feature voice artists Sakura Tange as Sakura Kinomoto, Aya Hisakawa as Keroberos, Junko Iwao as Tomoyo Daidōji, Megumi Ogata as Yukito Tsukishiro and Motoko Kumai as Syaoran Li, the heroin's love interest.
The new "Cardcaptor Sakura" anime will revolve around the story of the heroine, Sakura Kinomoto as she enters another stage of her life as a junior high. Her journey will start after having a strange dream that seemed like a threat to her happy and carefree life. Its plot has been based on the manga written by several fans back in June.
The original story of the much awaited "Cardcaptor Sakura" remake was first published in manga. The comic series ran for four years since it was created in 1996. People feel in love with the story that it garnered sales of about 12 million units. With the success of the written version, animators decided to make an anime based from it.
Meanwhile, the original 70-episode TV anime "Cardcaptor Sakura" became an instant hit. The script was translated by Tokyopop to English and was enjoyed by millions of fans around the globe.
It aired for almost two years before the creators brought the magical powers of CLAW cards on the big screen. The first movie was aired in August 1999 with the title, "Cardcaptor Sakura Movie" while the second one, the "Cardcaptor Sakura Movie 2: The Sealed Card", debuted in July 2000, as posted by My Anime List.
