iMac 2017 release will probably happen in January just in time for the Consumers Electronics Show 2017 happening that month.
In the past, the release window of the device has been erratic, unlike iPhone and iPad releases. Apple dropped a version in January, August, October, and November of different years. It has been two years since the last iMac was released.
There is a big possibility that iMac 2017 will be showcased early next year with high-end features and specifications. iMac 2017 will surely boost Apple's domination in PC and laptop fields. It is also possible that Apple will skip a special event and will simply announce the new devices.
After iMac 2016 release did not transpire probably because of the delay in production of Kaby Lake processors from Intel. Another possible reason for the delay is due to Apple's decision to stagger the release of its products in order not to cannibalize each other.
iMac 2017 Features and Specifications
According to rumors, iMac 2017 features will include a 27-inch 5K display. It will support virtual reality technology in order to provide a better experience to users. The device will also include OLED Touch Bar first found on MacBook Pro.
iMac 2017 specs will also pack the Intel Xeon processor instead of Kaby Lake chips. Intel Xeon is often used to high-end models of workstations because of its commendable processing performance by reducing programming errors. However, the Xeon processors are also considerably expensive as compared to its predecessors. The inclusion of this processor may also spike the price of the PC. This will be supported by the company's latest operating system for Mac PCs and laptops.
The aforementioned features are mere speculations and none has been confirmed by the Cupertino-based tech giant.
However, Apple has not revealed any details on the upcoming iMac 2017 release after all. Thus, fans may have to wait a little longer.
