"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 is heading into its midseason finale with an episode that may break the hearts of many Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candace King) fans. Latest spoiler news teased of Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) mysterious resurrection and his deadly attack towards Stefan.
In "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 episode 7, viewers will witness Stefan and Caroline's sweet moments together. Given his and Damon's recent deal with the Devil, Stefan will spend his final day as a free man with Caroline before he becomes the Devil's servant.
Determined to take advantage of the festive holiday, Stefan will be adamant to have an ordinary Christmas with Caroline, according to episode spoilers posted on Comic Book Movie. However, the "Steroline" couple's private Christmas Eve dinner with friends Alaric, Matt (Zach Roerig) and Peter (Joel Gretsch) will be crashed by Damon and his date Sybil (Nathalie Kelley).
Presumed dead after Alaric's (Matt Davis) attack as shown in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 episode 6, Damon will return to the land of the living given his and Stefan's special arrangement with the devil. The eldest Salvatore's presence at the said party will also result in a "dark and twisted" event.
Damon and Stefan will have an altercation that will lead to the eldest Salvatore brother stabbing his sibling with a pointy Christmas ornament. Caroline will witness the devastating event, however, she may be too late to save Stefan.
At this point, it is still unclear if Damon's attack on Stefan is part of the Devil's plans to temporarily capture the younger Salvatore brother's soul. Convincing Stefan to turn dark and unleash his evil side may be included in the Devil's mysterious agenda, as indicated in the same report.
Meanwhile, the future of the "Steroline" couple in the CW series is still unclear. In an earlier interview with TVLine, Wesley revealed that he has no idea how Stefan and Caroline's love story will end in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. He added, "I certainly don't think they should live happily ever after, but it's a nice distraction from the reality of ... all the atrocities Stefan has committed throughout the years."
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 episode 7 will be released on Dec. 9, Friday, on the CW. Watch the preview for the upcoming midseason 8 finale below:
