"The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure" star Dylan O'Brien will resume filming on the set in February 2017. The delay was due to the accident that he encountered during the shooting in March that left him injured and unable to work for nearly a year.
The accident sent O'Brien's fans to wonder if the actor will be returning to reprise his role as Thomas in "The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure." In the middle of the year, his camp made an announcement that the actor is coming back as he is successfully recuperating from the accident.
Before he started filming the fantasy movie, there are rumors that O'Brien has returned in "Teen Wolf." However, it seems that those are merely rumors because his co-star Tyler Posey recently revealed that he has been missing his friend in the shooting, especially that they are already on the final season.
There are speculations that the low ratings of "Teen Wolf" have something to do with O'Brien's absence in the MTV series. Without the actor, it seems that the show is not going to sustain its same ratings as before.
In November, O'Brien was seen filming his latest flick "American Assassin" in Rome for the first time since "The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure" accident. He looked well and happy after recovering from his sustained injuries, according to Entertainment Online.
O'Brien plays Mitch Rapp, a counterterrorism cooperative, who works under a Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton). Together, the tandem was tasked to investigate on the killings of random military and civilian people. Their mission is to stop a looming world war in the Middle East.
"The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure" will be released in theaters on Jan. 12, 2018 instead of a February 2017 release to give O'Brien his much needed time to recover, Deadline reported. He will not be doing any stunts at the moment due to his accidents.
The film is directed by Wes Ball and produced by Wyck Godfrey, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Lee Stollman. The script was based on the well known books of James Dashner.
