The Apple watch event scheduled on Monday, March 09 in San Francisco will be a 'must attend' event for wearable technology enthusiasts and Apple rivals alike to know the minute details, such as watch pricing, the probable Apple market share and by when the smartwatch will be available in Apple stores?
In the San Francisco Event, Apple's CEO Tim Cook will discuss both technical and general details about Apple's first new gadget since iPad. But, Tim's main aim all the while will be to convince the wearable technology enthusiasts that 'internet on the wrist' really makes enough sense.
"I would expect Tim to spend most of his time on Monday walking consumers through very unique use-case scenarios and exploring the implications for the Internet on the wrist and why it matters," Shawn DuBravac, chief economist for the Consumer Electronics Association, said.
Apart from that, the topics in which the tech journalists, analysts and Apple's competitors will be most interested in will include the gadgets key selling points, including the watch pricing range, Apple's intended market share and when the gadget will reach Apple Stores.
The optimism associated with the new device has already pushed the company shares to record highs. It will be Apple's responsibility to justify that rise in a manner it has done before, especially with iPhone and iPad.
According to Bloomberg analysts, the sales figure of the wearable can reach up to 14 million in the first fiscal year. The global sales volume of smartwatches can skyrocket to 28.1 million units this year from 4.6 million, and Apple could grab a 55 percent market share, according to researcher Strategy Analytics.
It has already been revealed that Apple's watch will come in three varieties, including the "Watch," "Watch Sport" and "Watch Edition."
The Sport model will probably start at $349, and be the most affordable collection. Earlier, the Verge reported Apple enthusiast and analyst John Gruber's prediction that the high-end model could start at $10,000 and go up to $20,000.
"The price points are going to be the key focus point," said Jim Suva, a Citi analyst.
The probable time of availability is also a topic of major interest. While touring Europe last month, Cook visited an Apple store in Berlin where he revealed that the watch would launch in Germany in April, employees told website 9to5Mac.
