Video graphics card manufacturer NVIDIA is giving away three VR games for every purchase of select products. The HTC Vive VR headset must also be purchased along the graphics card in order to avail "Raw Data," "Sports Bar VR" and "Serious Sam VR."
Gamers who are planning to indulge themselves this holiday season and planning to setup their their own VR system can consider purchasing the GTX 1080, GTX 1070 or the GTX 1060 from NVIDIA. The promo is also applicable for complete PC systems and laptops equipped with the participating GPUs as long as it is purchased with the HTC virtual reality headset, as announced on NVIDIA's website.
Residents in the United States must make their purchase either from Microsoft or Newegg, while those in the United Kingdom can get theirs from Scan or Overclockers UK. The promo started on Dec. 12 and will run until Jan. 31, 2017. A code will be issued upon purchase of the bundle, which should be then entered at the NVIDIA promo page in order to avail the three VR games, valued at around $100.
Going now to the free games, "Raw Data" is a VR combat simulation game in a futuristic setting. It gained a high review rating after it was launched on Steam's Early Access program early this year. The game utilizes the Vive controllers for its "active VR combat" feature, which gives its users the experience of using two pistols while performing dangerous stunts.
"Serious Sam VR" belongs to the successful PC game franchises that started way back in 2001. Gamers will still experience the fun wave shooter game but will certainly enjoy the ridiculous fire power in an immersive way using the HTC Vive VR headset.
A more casual gaming is offered by "Sports Bar VR." VR enthusiasts can play darts, billiards, air hockey, skeeball and other mini games that are often found in bars. One can enjoy these relaxed games with their online friends.
For the price, the GTX 1080 is $699, the GTX 1070 is $449 and the GTX 1060 is $299. The HTC Vive is available for $799.
