Sophie Turner who plays as Sansa Stark in "Game of Thrones" is thinking about the endgame of her run on the show and that of her character. She has finished filming her scenes for the show's shortened Season 7.
In the Season 6 finale, Stark's known half brother Jon Snow was declared King in the North. She could have been the Queen of the North or rule side by side with him. However, the alliances in the North are a bit complicated and her exchange of meaningful look with Littlefinger threatens more complications.
As for Sansa's mindset in the upcoming season, Turner talked about a darker version of her character who is now ruthlessly playing the game. Changing her wardrobe in the Eyrie to black was just a mild version of her dark side. She got her taste of power for the first time in Season 6 though she was not recognized.
"She feels like it's deserved because she did so much for Jon and the North, so when she saves the day and doesn't get any recognition for it." Turner told Vulture. "She was stripped of the respect that she really feels she deserves."
Sansa tried to be a collaborative leader to Jon, giving her input but had to deal with patriarchy and sexism. Following "Battle of the Bastards," Stark got her first kill, her husband Ramsay Bolton and her smile while walking away was interesting. The actress sees Sansa as more powerful and how will she handle that in the upcoming season is something to watch for.
Turner was also asked about the nonverbal signals of her character and replied that is how her character survives. Stark was never allowed to speak up and had to do things nonverbally. She supposed that is how her character plays the game and adapts to the cruel world she is in.
As for the mood on set, Turner shared there are discussions about what they are going to do on the last day now that they are gearing up for the end. It has become quite real for them now that they are coming to a close as they try to be somber while enjoying as much as possible.
Currently, Turner is dating singer Joe Jonas. Recently, a source told Page Six that Jonas is impressed that his girlfriend does not let him pay for her all the time.
