For those who have a lot of cash to burn and do not mind paying the extra money, they can get the best of the best. Here is a very short list of the top cars of 2016, almost from end to end.
Supercars and Muscle cars
Individuals with a deep pocket can opt to purchase any of these hypercars and supercars. They can even purchase all of them if they want to.
The Bugatti Chiron is considered as the fastest supercar available with a top speed of 260 mph (420 kmh) but costs $2.6 million. The latest Bugatti's power plant generates up to 1,500 horsepower and is 300 hp more than the previous model, noted CNN Style.
There are also individuals who prefer the American way and the muscle car is the one for them. The Ford Mustang GT Fastback with 5.0-liter V8 engine is one of the top options, with a starting price tag of $32,920. Another known muscle car is the Chevrolet Corvette and its Z06 model starts at $80,445. It comes with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine.
Compact Cars and Sedans
For people living in the city who do not really need to cover great distances from home to the office and back can get the Mazda 3 that starts with $18.680 price tag. The Honda Civic is also a great one, which costs about $19,475.
The BMW 2-series are for those who prefer to have a bigger and classier ride. The MSRP starts at $33,845, while the Mercedes-Benz CLA-class starts at $32,975.
Electric vehicles
The Tesla Model X is the fastest accelerating and greenest electric vehicle around. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and has a 289-mile driving range. The Model X 60D has a price tag of $74,000.
The Chevrolet Bolt EV, on the other hand, costs only $37,495 but can only drive up to 190 miles.
Compact Crossover
For those who are eyeing compact crossovers and full size SUVs, Car and Driver suggests the Hondar CR-V that can be availed starting at $24,745. The base engine is 184 horsepower 2.4-liter that has an EPA of 27/33 mpg cty/hwy, while a 190 horsepower 1.5-liter turbo four is optional. The crossover comes with a standard front-wheel drive.
