Lenovo has officially unveiled the ZUK Edge smartphone and revealed its specs. The new device is equipped with a quad core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 and comes with either 4GB or 6GB of system memory. It also includes a fast 64 GB UFS 2.0 internal storage.
The newly announced handset also features a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED TDDI touchscreen that offers a 1920 x 1080p resolution with 403 ppi pixel density. The screen comes with a viewing angle of 178 degrees and is protected by a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone comes pre-installed with Android 7.0 Nougat mobile operating system, as revealed on its official website.
On the back of the ZUK Edge is a 13 MP main camera that supports auto focus, phase detection and ISOCELL. It also comes with an f/2.2 aperture, 1.34μm pixel size and an LED flash. GSM Arena added that a heart rate sensor is also included at the back, while its fingerprint sensor can unlock the device in 0.09 seconds.
The ZUK Edge also boasts a 3100 mAh battery capacity that supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology via a USB 3.1 Type-C port. It also supports OTG. Musically inclined individuals will also appreciate the Dirac HD Sound enhancement that helps provide a better sounding Hi-Fi audio through its 3.5 mm audio jack.
In terms of connectivity, the latest device offers 4G VoLTE, dual-band 802.11 Wi-Fi ac, and a Bluetooth 4.1 LE connections. The color options include Ceramic White and Titanium Crystal Black. Physical measurement come in at 142.9 x 74.5 x 7.68 mm and tips the scale at 160 grams.
It was also revealed that the ZUK Edge will be officially available in China starting Jan. 1, 2017. The 4 GB RAM variant will cost CNY 2,299 (approximately US$330) while the model with 6 GB RAM will be sold for CNY 2,499 (approximately US$360). It can be considered as the most affordable smartphone equipped with the Snapdragon 821 in the market.
