Following the "Running Man" casting controversy that led to the SBS show's impending end, Lee Kwang Soo will still be able to regale his fans with his acting abilities in future projects. The cast member has already received several offers to join upcoming projects given his performances in previous dramas.
Lee has been entertaining viewers with his funny antics in the SBS variety program since 2010. Known as the "Prince of Asia" given his participation in "Running Man," Lee became one of the said show's popular cast members and even nabbed several commercial deals in China.
With the SBS show set to air its final episode in February 2017, the actor will soon have more time to showcase his acting prowess in upcoming projects. Recently, the South Korean celebrity even displayed his acting range in dramas such as "Entourage," "Sound of your Heart," as well as a cameo role in the historical series "Hwarang."
The subsequent release of the three dramas that highlighted Lee's versatility as an actor was also coincidental. The CEO of Lee's agency Kingkong Entertainment shared in an interview with Yonhap News that given the pre-filming condition of the said dramas, they had no idea when the three programs will be aired.
However, the said projects ended up being released so close to each other with the web drama "Sound of your Heart" and "Entourage" premiering at nearly the same first week November period. Moreover, given the said web drama's consequent release on KBS and Lee's recent "Hwarang" guest appearance, the actor became one of the widely-seen celebrities in the South Korean entertainment industry.
Kingkong Entertainment's CEO also mentioned how several productions have expressed interest in casting Lee in their projects. Many of the offers consisted of comical roles although some of the projects featured diverse characters that will allow Lee to display a different side of himself.
At this time, the actor has yet to identify his next acting project. Lee is set to complete filming activities for the remaining "Running Man" episodes, as well as participate in fan meetings.
