Nerlens Noel
The Boston Celtics are taking a wait-and-see approach with regard to making moves on the trading front. Veteran NBA insider Jack McMullen told CSNNE that Boston won't have any trouble trading for Philadelphia 76ers center Nerlens Noel, if they really wanted to pursue the bigman. However, he believes the Celtics are still hoping to salvage a huge fish heading into February's trade deadline.
Easy Target Noel
According to McMullen, trading Noel won't be that much complicated as making a move for DeMarcus Cousins because the Celtics have enough trade assets to entice the Sixers front-office.
McMullen thinks the Celtics aren't making a rush move right now as they are still monitoring the trade market in hope of salvaging an established star. Cousins obviously is on top of their wish-list, while names of Jimmy Butler, Rudy Gay and Paul George are also in consideration.
Noel is averaging 6.3 points and 2.6 rebounds in 7 minutes per game, but viewed as the odd-man out in the Sixers' crowded frontline rotation. Teams are expected to pursue Noel as the trade window comes to a close mid February.
Celtics Big Man Option
The prospect of an Andrew Bogut trade to the Celtics has emerged despite Marc Cuban's firm stance that they aren't looking to deal away the Aussie center. Celtics beat writer Kevin O'Connor stressed in his latest write-ups that Mavs should consider trading Bogut in exchange for assets (young player and assets) if they do care about the future.
"Despite owner Mark Cuban's declaration that the team isn't interested in tanking, the Mavericks would be wise to trade Andrew Bogut with the future in mind, O'Connor argues in the same piece. O'Connor lists several teams, including the Blazers and the Celtics, that could use the big man's defense," per Hoops Rumors.
Bogut is playing with the Dallas Mavericks after two finals appearance with the Golden State Warriors. In order to absorb Kevin Durant's max contract, the Warriors decided to part ways with Bogut and now Mavs star Harrison Barnes.
