"Girl Meets World" Season 3 will air a new episode on Jan. 6 that will center on Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya's (Sabrina Carpenter) friendship.

On the show's official Twitter account, it was revealed that Riley has one big wish for her best friend and that is for the latter to have hope. Unfortunately, no other detail from "World Meets Girl" has been released. The third to the last episode of "Girl Meets World" Season 3 will air on Disney Channel for one hour.

Following the episode, "Girl Meets World" Season 3 will release "Girl Meets Sweet 16" and "Girl Meets Goodbye." Based on the titles alone, the first one will feature a birthday celebration, while the second one could see the end of the series. As of late, there are rumors that "Girl Meets World" has already been cancelled after three seasons.

During a recent interview on his Podcast, "Boy Meets World" alum Rider Strong said that the series has already ended. "We finished the third season of 'Girl Meets World' - my brother and I were directing a lot of episodes and I acted in a couple - and the show ended," he said (via E! News).

However, the writers of the sitcom clarified that Strong's statement was simply taken out of context since Disney Channel has not made a final decision yet regarding the show. In a follow up tweet, the writers also threw shade at Strong's character, Shawn Hunter, for being wrong most of the time when he was still in "Boy Meets World."

Meanwhile, if "Girl Meets World" will wrap up in three weeks, it seems that Carpenter is not really worried as to what the future holds for her. After all, the singer can easily focus on making more music. On her Instagram account, Carpenter shared a video of herself singing a beautiful song.
