"Girl Meets World" has officially been canceled by Disney Channel after only three seasons.
The not-so-shocking news came from the writers of the sitcom via their official Twitter account. A series of posts confirmed that a call was made by the execs of the network informing them that "Girl Meets World" was not picked up for a fourth season.
However, fans were not really surprised to hear the confirmation since "Boy Meets World" alum Rider Strong also said that the sitcom has wrapped up after Season 3, according to TV Line.
Meanwhile, just a few minutes after the announcement was made, lead star Rowan Blanchard penned a lengthy post on Twitter expressing her sadness over the news. The young actress also took the opportunity to thank the creators of the show, her co-stars and fans for all of their help and support throughout the past three seasons.
"Girl Meets World" cast member Sabrina Carpenter also posted a photo with her co-stars via her Instagram account. The photo was also accompanied by a lengthy caption that ended with a quote from Fellini: "There is no end. There is no beginning. There is only infinite passion of life."
"Girl Meets World" Season 3 still has three episodes left before the show officially says goodbye to fans.
