Updates on the "Thor" franchise did not end on Jan. 5, when Disney dropped the brand new synopsis for "Thor: Ragnarok." Following the release, rumors started to swirl around that the special features for the Blu-ray and digital releases of "Doctor Strange" will include the comical mockumentary "Team Thor."
The upcoming "Doctor Strange" releases will reportedly include not a bit of "Thor: Ragnarok" footage but the demigod's hilarious adventures, particularly the second part of "Team Thor." The first part of the clip was unveiled at Marvel Studios' presentation at the San Diego Comic Con, where "Thor" director Takia Waititi shared a short clip that showed what had kept the God of Thunder busy during "Captain America: Civil War."
The second part of "Team Thor" will show the rib-tickling partnership between the blonde-haired Asgardian and his roommate Darryl, Collider reported. The first part of the video revealed that during the Civil War, Thor was in Australia with Darryl, trying to figure out the mystery behind the Infinity Stones.
At the San Diego Comic Con, Waititi hinted the return of Thor and Darryl in the near future. Shortly after the first part of the satirical video had debuted, Waititi teased that fans might see Thor and his bumbling roommate reunite and clown around, and that the first comical short film about Thor might just be a part of a much bigger thing.
"I think you probably could see him again. There may be other little pieces of that thing that everyone saw that may just be a small part of a bigger thing," Waititi noted at the massive convention.
Meanwhile, Marvel has confirmed that the "Doctor Strange" Blu-ray and digital releases would come with over 80 minutes of never-before-seen bonus materials, including five behind-the-scenes featurettes, some deleted scenes and sidesplitting outtakes, an audio commentary by "Doctor Strange" director Scott Derrickson, the second part of the "Team Thor" mockumentary, as well as an early peek at where the Marvel Cinematic Universe is headed. This "Phase 3 Exclusive Look" would reportedly offer glimpses of some of Marvel's upcoming films, including "Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2," "Black Panther," and "Avengers: Infinity War."
"Doctor Strange" will hit Digital HD and Disney Movie Anywhere on Feb. 14 and will be out on 3D Blu-ray, DVD and On-Demand on Feb. 28.
