HMD Global just announced their new Nokia 6 smartphone which is the first of the devices for the rebirth of the Finnish brand. The new Nokia device is targeted towards the mainstream market in China.
Nokia 6 specs include a 5.5-inch FHD display and 64GB storage. HMD Global, which bought the rights to use the Nokia brand, claims that the phone's body took almost an hour to be created by the machines. 6000 series aluminum were used for the high-quality finish.
Microsoft has already expressed their regret in trying to make it big in the mobile industry using Nokia's brand. The feature smartphones have failed in the market but HMD Global might still be able to save the Finnish brand's name.
Nokia 6 is powered by the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC but with 4GB RAM for seamless multitasking, Pocket-Lint has learned. It is not as powerful as the flagship Galaxy S7 or even the LG V20 but it is expected to do well in China.
HMD Global's reveal of the mid-range smartphone may mean that the flagship device should still be expected soon. The recently unveiled device is expected to take on the Samsung Galaxy A series.
The Nokia 6 price is set around $250 but customers need to note that it will be sold only in China through JD.com, Mashable reported. There is no word yet on whether HMD Global will be releasing the Nokia 6 internationally or if their future products will be available across the world.
Other Nokia 6 specs and features include the 16MP phase detection auto focus for the rear. The selfie camera in front will be holding the 8MP snapper. There is also mention of Dolby Atmos technology using the double amplifiers inside the smartphone.
Nokia 6 is just the first of the many smartphones from HMD Global. The flagship smartphone is still expected to be revealed at Mobile World Congress 2017.
