After gaining success in Hollywood, it appears that South Korean actress Bae Doona is ready to return to her roots. The actress is reportedly in talks to star in tvN's new drama series "Forest of Secrets" together with Cho Seung Woo.
A representative of "Forest of Secrets" said that the production team has sent Cho Seung Woo and Bae Doona offers to star in the drama series. Discussions are currently in place and the conversation appears to be mostly positive. There are no confirmations, however, about casting for the other characters.
Details for the first script reading and filming have not been set, but "Forest of Secrets" is expected to air in mid-2017.
According to Soompi, "Forest of Secrets" is a thriller about an emotional prosecutor who uncovers secrets about a case in the public prosecutor's office. Upon learning of this information, he sets down to hunt the real culprit himself.
Bae Doona has been doing more appearances in South Korea recently. Most recently, she was spotted filming in Seoul for MBC's "Infinity Challenge," allkpop reported. No information about the concept for the show has been revealed, but it is already gaining a lot of interest considering that Bae Doona rarely makes appearances on local TV shows due to her busy schedule. She also snapped a photo with the cast of "Infinity Challenge."
She previously aired in "Cloud Atlas" with Tom Hanks and Halley Berry. Bae Doona currently stars in Netflix's "Sense8" Season 2 where she plays Sun. "Sense8" Christmas Special was recently released on Netflix and anticipation is high for its Season 2 premiere, which will be on May 5 this year.
"Sense8" Season 2 will follow the sensates, Bae Doona's Sun included, as they run from the Whispers who are forcing them into an interrogation about their identities. In "Sense8" Season 2, Sun struggles with the knowledge that her brother murdered their father. She will grow more this season and will drive fast for something.
"This season, she's getting stronger ... as a weapon and she's finding a way for revenge," the show's creators revealed.
