Expectations are high for Philippines' bet Maxine Medina hoping she could make the Philippines first back-to-back win for the country. However, a feng shui expert predicted if Maxine will win the crown or not.
Winning the competition is all about hardwork, but having luck does not hurt. Feng shui expert Marites Allen predicted that Maxine's chances are not quite optimistic. Allen explained that Maxine feels the pressure of winning the title and it is quite overwhelming for the beauty queen.
"The issue with the Horse [referring to Medina's animal sign], during the Chinese New Year, the conflicts will begin. The issue with her is while the strength could be very strong, the perception is just going to be too much. ...Internally she will be feeling so much pressure," Allen said.
However, Allen noted that the pageant will be held before the shift to the Year of the Rooster, so her predictions could be wrong. Based on the almanac for this year, she added that the January 30 is the "Day of the Snake," and the Snake is traditionally not an enemy of the Horse.
In order to increase her luck, she advised Maxine to wear outfits with lots of white, silver, or gold.
Meanwhile, Maxine is confident that she will win the crown. She was criticized for her apparent nervousness when answering questions that made some people think that she could lose in the question and answer portion.
However, Maxine said that she worked so hard in preparation for the pageant and practiced how she will answer the questions in the competition. In the past, Pia Wurtzbach revealed that she filled three notebooks as part of her preparation in winning the title.
Meanwhile, Wurtzbach is currently in the Philippines for the Miss Universe 2016, which will be held in Manila on Jan. 30. She will be part of the pre-pageant schedule of activities. Pia will surely act as the gracious host for the organizers and the delegates of different countries. She will be extending the hospitality that is unique to Pinoys. Based on the publicized schedules of the Miss Universe delegates, the candidates will fly to different provinces for the different activities. Some of the provinces they will visit are Ilocos, Cebu, and Davao. The current reigning beauty queen is the main reason why organizers decided to hold the pageant in the Philippines.
