HMD Global has not yet revealed all of the Nokia Android smartphones that will be released this year. However, there has been a new leak regarding the rumored flagship Nokia P1 2017 handset.
Microsoft failed to revive Nokia's top spot in the handset industry with their Lumia line. The Redmond-based tech giant admitted their mistake and sold off the brand.
Now, HMD Global is taking a big leap to launch the Nokia Android 2017 smartphones which are expected to take on the wide spectrum of the smartphone market. Their recently revealed Nokia 6 is a low-end device which means that the rest will have better specs.
Nokia P1 specs are expected to have the 5.3-inch IGZO display with an undisclosed pixel resolution, according to Android Community. The phone may carry the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Considering that it is a flagship device, the screen could have at least a 1080p resolution or up to 1440p to compete with the upcoming LG G6 and Galaxy S8 from Samsung.
The phone's camera could carry 23MP for the rear with optics from Carl Zeiss. Unfortunately, there are still no speculations regarding the front camera. It is also expected to be powered by a massive 3500mAh battery complete with Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
Another Nokia P1 spec is the Android 7.0 Nougat version out of the box and an expandable storage thanks to a microSD card slot, Digital Trends reported. Interestingly, the features are similar to the Aquos Xx3 and Aquos P1 which was unveiled in 2016.
There is no Nokia P1 release date yet but the price is expected to start at $800 with $950 being the higher-end variant. HMD Global may reveal all of the details at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona.
