Madonna slammed the 45th President of the United States of America, Donald Trump. The "Frozen" hitmaker has hit the headlines again for her unapologetic view of the president's inauguration as she said that this time the people of America have gone as low as they can go.
Keeping her straightforward opinion about him, the starlet quoted, "I do believe that Trump was elected for a reason, to show us how lazy and un-unified and lackadaisical and taking for granted we've become of our freedom and the rights that we have as Americans."
While the diva has remained a controversial figure for the most part of her life and created songs like "Papa Don't Preach" that evoked huge fuss, Madonna has now attacked Trump during a discussion focused on art, dissent, and feminism.
She lately appeared at the Brooklyn Museum together with Marilyn Minter, the event was carried forward by poet Elizabeth Alexander. Slamming Trump, Madonna further exclaimed sarcastically that the people of America have gone as low as they could, Trump is actually doing a good service to them.
She also quoted that from this very point of our lives there are only two choices that all Americans are left with and those choices are destruction and creation. She points it out that her choice has always remained the later one, as published in Billboard.
Recently, during Madonna gathered a huge appreciation for her remarkable speech as she received the Woman of the Year award at Billboard's Women In Music 2016 event. The singing icon also said that we the Americans must not get really consumed with what we have been fighting against, instead, they must think about what they have been fighting for.
Madonna also discussed chauvinism and abuse in her speech focusing on how society is divided by genders, races, and sexual orientations. She recounted the incident when she got abused and decided to change her life forever.
While Minter in her speech said that female artists get recognition after struggling for many years in their lives when compared to men, Madonna ended her speech by saying that it is always the darkest before the dawn and this is what brings people together, PopCrush reported.
