Leaked renders of the LG G6 show that it may be incapable of water resistance even if the company claims it will be waterproof. The new flagship Android smartphone may also receive the Google Assistant.
With LG confirming earlier that it will not take the modular approach again with the new flagship smartphone, fans are now slowly becoming more excited. The LG G6 specs are not yet revealed but leaked data can already paint the picture.
There has been a leaked render of the LG G6 case from Ghostek, as cited by BGR. Design-wise, the renders show that the new device is highly similar to its predecessor. Unfortunately, there has been no official confirmation by LG whether the cases are accurate with the phone's design aspects or not.
Earlier speculations have claimed that the LG G6 will indeed be waterproof with added dust resistance. It may have the same resistance certifications as the Galaxy S7 Edge. In addition, there will be no more modular features that made the G5 unattractive in the first place.
LG G6 specs and features can also include AI assistants from Google and Amazon, Business Korea reported. On launch, the Android 7.0 Nougat smartphone may feature the Google Assistant service which would rival Apple's Siri or Amazon's Alexa.
Besides the new flagship device, LG may also tap the Google AI prowess and include them in their upcoming smartwatches. It may appear in the next Android Wear 2.0 rollout which is expected several weeks from now.
The LG G6's screen may feature Quad HD which is 1440p in pixel resolution. It will take on the Galaxy S8 from Samsung which is rumored to be launching their flagship later than usual due to additional tests. Competitors seem to be taking advantage of the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.
LG is expected to unveil the G6 specs, price and release date at the upcoming Mobile World Congress which will be held in Barcelona in February. Samsung may also reveal the Galaxy S8 at the event.
