The first part of "Teen Wolf" Season 6 just wrapped up on Jan. 31, Tuesday, and it ended up with questions on the viewers' mind. The return of Stiles Stilinski (Dylan O'Brien) is something that fans have been wanting for a long time, however, it seems that he is not going to stay for long in the entire winter finale.
"Teen Wolf's" showrunner Jeff Davis admitted that they were surprised when they knew that O'Brien would not be able to be available for the entire "Teen Wolf" Season 6 finale because of his hectic commitment to his latest movie "Maze Runner: The Death Cure." It was a disappointment, but they were able to come up a storyline that would still be right to make Stiles the center of the series.
"It was definitely a challenge when we knew we were only going to have [Dylan O'Brien] for a couple episodes," Davis told Screener TV. "The network asked me because he had this movie coming out and he wasn't going to be available to us -- if we could do a season with just a few episodes. I was like, 'Just a few episodes? It's Stiles!'"
While talking to the publication, Davis shared how he came up with a story that highlights Stiles amidst O'Brien's absence. "Teen Wolf" Season 6 finale was based on a feature script titled "Memory Lost" that Davis himself wrote when he was still a budding film writer. The script is about a character, who lost memory and obviously, it was used to honor the Stiles' character.
Moreover, "Teen Wolf's" winter finale is going to focus on Theo's (Cody Christian) arc. He would not be featured as a villain, but somebody who is struggling to be on the good side. It was confirmed that they are already getting ready to feature Theo's redemption arc in the upcoming episodes.
The first part of "Teen Wolf" Season 6 finale wrapped up with Stiles and Lydia's (Holland Roden) epic kissing scene. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Davis said that it is something that they really wanted to feature for the series' finale because "Stydia" has not been tackled in the past episodes of the hit MTV series.
Viewers were left hanging when the last scene showed Stiles and Scott (Tyler Posey) driving away from the Beacon Hills. All of the characters were heading to the next chapter of their lives after high school. What the ending leads to is the big question that viewers wanted to know when the next 10-episode of Season 6 returns.
