Google has finally announced Android Wear 2.0. A list of smartwatches that can be upgraded to Android Wear 2.0 has been revealed.
One of the significant changes available on Wear 2.0 is the always-on watch faces feature. Users can customize the always-on screen with updates from different apps such as calendars, health apps, contacts and more. Users will be able to add multiple always-on screens to the smartwatch that can swiped to switch among the screens, Phone Arena reported.
The Google Fit fitness app can now track speed, distance, number of calories burn and monitor heart rate (requires heart rate sensor on the smartwatch). It comes with support for cellular connectivity so that the smartwatch can be used for making calls and data connectivity without pairing it with a smartwatch.
The Android Wear 2.0 arrives with its own Google Play store which makes it possible to download apps directly to the smartwatch by accessing the app store. Messaging has been simplified on Android Wear 2.0 as users can expand the alert and reply by voice, typing and writing. Android Wear 2.0 users can take advantage of smart replies as it will come loaded with Google Assistant.
The newly introduced LG Watch Style and LG Watch Sport are the first smartwatches to come preloaded with Android Wear 2.0. Following is the list of existing smartwatches that can be upgraded to the latest Android Wear version:

The above list shows that Android Wear 2.0 is coming to some of the most famous Android smartwatches. It means that in order to try the new version of Android Wear, users are not required to purchase a new smartwatch. The newly announced LG Watch Sport and Style will be available for buying starting from Feb. 10, Droid-Life reported.
