Kim Woo Bin surprised many fans when he was seen wearing a back brace. Shin Min Ah's boyfriend recently revealed that he hurt his back while exercising.
Avid fans of the "Uncontrollably Fond" actor expressed concern when Kim confessed during his recent fan meeting that he sustained a back injury. Held in Taiwan on Feb. 12, Sunday, some of the event attendees noticed that he wore what appears to be waist protector.
Meanwhile, the actor's back injury revelation happened when he had to decline the fans' request for him to show his abs. Kim then explained that he was unable to comply with the request given his back brace and back pains.
Shin's boyfriend recounted that he hurt his back due to excessive exercise. Given the injury, he was advised to wear the said brace that limited his mobility while he is recovering.
Following Kim's confession, the actor's agency gave a quick update on the South Korean star's health status. In a recent announcement, as obtained by Koreaboo, Sidus HQ assured fans that although Kim still experiences back pains, he is already on the road to recovery.
In other news, Kim's drama "Uncontrollably Fond" posted low TV ratings during its 20-episode run. The KBS drama was the first production to follow the advance filming strategy of the global hit "Descendants of the Sun."
However, Kim's series failed to mirror the said drama's success. At the end of its two-month broadcast, "Uncontrollably Fond" registered nationwide viewership shares of 8.4 percent which is 4.1 percentage points lower than the 12.5 percent posted during its debut episode.
Despite the low ratings, Kim shared in a December 2016 interview with Star Today, as cited by All Kpop, that he was proud of the KBS drama. Highlighting the support that the production received from loyal viewers, he stated that he was not "hugely disappointed" with the said series.
