Season 3 of House of Cards is getting more intriguing by each episode. Episode 12 shows Heather Dunbar getting bolder as she gets ahead of Frank with the nomination for the Democratic seat.
The campaign leading Frank's team is putting Claire in the lead since they believe that she can put more votes over to Frank. Claire, feeling exhausted is not buying the idea but still does it.
Justice Jacobs is still trying to convince Heather to replace him at the Supreme Court. But according to her, she wants to be the next United States' President, as reported by Digital Spy.
While planning their next move for the campaign, Frank tells Claire that he might be wrong in having the novel for Tom to write. He might have spilled too many secrets dealing with his personal life and not on his political affairs.
Meanwhile, Jackie is still waiting for Remy to hand her any known dirty secret but he doesn't have any. In the end, they end up in bed. Well, there was something special between them anyway.
Dunbar is into all means to crush Frank. She goes to Doug and informs him that the journal will be her ace against Claire regarding the abortion. Doug seems too focused on Rachel knowing that she is still alive but is in hiding.
Before the episode ends, Dunbar is seen meeting with Frank to ask him to stop his campaign or she will destroy Claire by using what she has learned from the journal. Frank is exasperated that he underestimated Heather.
Claire got a call from Frank to let her know about the journal Doug is holding. Suddenly, Doug goes to the White House and to Frank's surprise, burns the steamy journal right before his eyes. Doug gives Dunbar a call to tell her the journal is gone.
An unhappy Claire sits in her home wondering why Frank hired Doug as his chief of staff after what he has done. She also wonders why she is just agreeing to all of these. What happens to her ambition?
