"Injustice 2" iOS has already launched in the App Store for the Philippines. The actual game for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will not launch until May.
There have been several YouTube videos of the "Injustice 2" mobile game being played already. Nether Realms has not yet officially launched the game internationally but it would seem that there is a soft launch in the Philippines.
Just like the first one, the game still revolves around tapping and swiping as its main mechanic for fighting. The design has been updated to reflect its console counterpart complete with new characters such as Supergirl and Gorilla Grodd.
Another new feature for the "Injustice 2" app is customizable gears which can be earned through grinding endlessly, Touch Arcade has learned. There are also new fighting mechanics such as swiping back and tapping to launch a projectile attack or swiping up for an air attack. Players can also swipe down for a crouched attack.
Players can also choose among the different costumes of their favorite superheroes. For instance, there is a default Flash and a Speedforce Flash with different attires. Since it is a freemium game, players can either grind to get the gold to buy them or just pay to unlock them instantly.
There is still no "Injustice 2" Android app despite the iOS counterpart already launched in the Philippines, Mic reported. The soft launch is similar to how "Pokemon GO" was released first in New Zealand and Australia before it was slowly rolled out across the globe.
Those who are already in the Philippines can just open up their iOS App Store or iTunes to directly download the "Injustice 2" app. A worldwide rollout including the Android version is expected as the console counterpart launch release date nears.
