New posters have been released by Marvel in promotion of its upcoming film "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" this coming May. Together with the release of the posters, a website holds an "Age of Ultron" trailer remixing contest.
There posters were individualized, featuring one character per poster. They include Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Nick Fury, and Ultron.
According to Screenrant, Ultron has three versions due to upgrades that it had. The first version resembles the Iron Man armor, since it was designed by Tony Stark as defense to the world. The second Ultron version is the upgrade done when he became a self-governing entity, unruled by his creators. The third version is known as "Ultron Prime". The second version is the one featured in the posters while Ultron Prime is the one in the trailers. Ultron Prime is also set to establish links to the upcoming film "Black Panther".
Ultron becomes connected to the Black Panther movie as its body becomes upgraded using vibranium, which is said to be the same material used in Captain America's shield. Vibranium roots from the African place Wakanda.
On the other news, the website iO9 announced a trailer contest yesterday, in which participants have to remix the "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" trailer. The contest is inspired by the insertion of Spider-Man into the Age of Ultron clip by NeoGAF forum user plain_r, which can be seen in the website.
It depends on the person's creativity that the trailer can be transformed into a horror, romantic, or funny trailer. Mash-ups are also possible. Participants just have to use a video-editing software to modify the trailer and upload them in Youtube. Entries in GIF format are also allowed. The best entries will be posted in the website next week.
The highly expect film cast members include Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Star/ Iron Man, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/ Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johanson as Natasha Romanoff/ Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barlon/ Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/ The Hulk, Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury, and James Spader as Ultron's voice.
The film is set to be directed by Joss Whedon, together with Jack Kirby and Stan Lee as writers.
"Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" is slated to premiere in theaters and cinemas on May 1.
