Ubisoft's "Assassin's Creed" franchise focuses on perfection and historically accurate details ever since its launch but the newly launched Rogue on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC has swayed out of their core values.
As explained by a critic from Kotaku, the game's latest version confirmed that the developers are no longer focusing on authenticity but rather on delivering the goods on time without any bugs. It is good in parts but he points that it lacks many good elements on multiple levels.
The lead character speaks a Scottish accent, even though his mother is English and he was born in England. He has hardly met his Scottish father which is why his accent is completely broken. When the critic tried to make a native of Scotland understand the accent, the person was really annoyed by its lack of authenticity.
It confirms that the game developers got neither right with "Assassin's Creed Rogue" but decided to overlook it for some reason.
The lack of attention to detail continues with another character named George Munro, a British army officer. Even though, he works with English, he was in Ireland all his childhood yet has a really strong English accent.
For a long time, the franchise was associated with creating buildings, characters and a world that depicts the exact culture in its authentic glory. But, the new Rogue makes its lead Captain Cook talk like a Russian gangster players might have encountered in "GTA IV". It reminds people of the popular movie Braveheart, says Nostrotech.
