Super Junior's Donghae shared teaser images for his upcoming digital single titled "California Love" on October 11.
The song has an addictive melody and talks about a person's desire to share the love with their lover in the beauty of California. The track will feature Jeno of NCT, who has always talked about his good friendship with Donghae.
Donghae shared six teaser images, of which three feature a red and exotic backdrop that is reminiscent of California. The other three photos showcase cool vibes that remind fans of the other track "Blue Moon", featuring (G)I-DLE's Miyeon.
Meanwhile, shortly after Donghae released the teaser photos for "California Love", his name and the title of the digital single started trending on Twitter. Super Junior fans, referred to as Elf, trended the words "Donghae" and "California Love" on Twitter and other social media platforms.
"California Love" will be Donghae's first solo single in over a year since his solo track "HARMONY", featuring BewhY, released in February 2020.
"HARMONY" was composed by Donghae and J-DUB, and the rap lyrics were penned and performed by BewhY. The song was an expression of Donghae's gratitude for being able to sing even when he was going through a tough period.
Super Junior D&E, also called Donghae&Eunhyuk, D&E or SJ-D&E, is South Korean boy band Super Junior's fifth sub-unit. It was formed in 2011 by SM Entertainment with Super Junior's two band members, Donghae and Eunhyuk. The duo made their debut with the digital single "Oppa, Oppa" on December 16, 2011.
D&E has its first full album "Countdown" coming up later this month. Donghae and Eunhyuk will be releasing two solo pre-release singles ahead of the D&E album, as was previously announced.
Donghae will be dropping his pre-release single "California Love" at 6 OM KST on October 13. Meanwhile, the music video teaser for the track will release later tonight at 10 PM KST.
Meanwhile, "Countdown" is the duo's first Korean studio album, which will be dropped in light of their 10th debut anniversary. It is a comeback of sorts for the band as it has been a year and a month since the release of its fourth mini-album "Bad Blood" last year in September.
Previously, Super Junior D&E released a medley that includes previews of tracks "Oppa Oppa", "Danger", "No Love", "B.A.D", "Bout You", and "Growing Pains".
