Tom Cruise was seen adding grace to the NCAA Women's Final Four college basketball semi final game on April 5 along with son Connor Cruise. While the crowd cheered, and social media went haywire over the surprise visit, this also led to some speculation over the conspicuous absence of a similar sort of footage of the actor with his little daughter Suri Cruise.
No doubt this has provided a fresh lease of life to the already prevalent rumour stream of how strained the actor's relationship is with Katie Holmes, mother of Suri. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes separated in 2012 after 5 and half years of married life that had yielded Suri. Interestingly, Suri is the only biological child of Tom Cruise though the last time the father daughter duo was seen was in September 15 2013. That was in Adirondacks, New York.
"I don't want that moment in my life to define me, to be who I am," Katie Holmes had famously said after her high profile divorce from Tom. Both Tom and Holmes are believed to be not even on talking terms post the divorce with all matters related to their 8 year old daughter are sorted out via intermediaries, mentions DailyMail.
Tom Cruise's two other children - son Connor Cruise and daughter Isabella Jane Cruise are both adopted and are in their early twenties. Both Tom and Connor were seen glued to the game with Tom looking nervous during some intense moments. The game between Connecticut and Maryland ended with the later going down 81-58. It's not known though which side the Top Gun star was rooting for.
Tom is back from London after a gruelling shooting sequence for another Mission Impossible sequel, the fifth in line. MI: Rogue Nation is due for release in July this year. Tom's appearance at the basketball game also comes at a time when the actor earned some notoriety with respect to his relationship with women post the screening of the HBO documentary - "Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood and the Prison of Belief".
With Mission Impossible 5: Rouge Nation slated for a summer release, many have been speculating if coming to watch a college basketball game has anything to do with repairing his image before the movie releases, claims Washington Post Blog.
Meanwhile in another development, Tom is all set to act alongside actress Sarah Wright - 21 years his junior - in a new thriller titled Mena.
