Violence is one thing video games are both loved and hated for, and Mortal Kombat X really delivers.

Mortal Kombat X is the tenth main installment in the video game series and it was just recently launched on April 14. Fans instantly loved the all-new gory fatalities, while parents might probably hate them for exposing blood and violence to their children.

NetherRealm Studios added new characters to the mix such as Cassie Cage, the offspring of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade.

Kung Jin, a descendant of Kung Lao, is also a new addition. Takashi Takeda, the son of Kenshi, is also joining the new cast. Jax also has a daughter named Jacqueline Briggs.

Some of the fatalities in Mortal Kombat X really hit the spot for gore lovers. D'vorah's fatality involves punching holes through her enemy using her insects and then letting the critters feed on the skin of the enemy's head while also removing it from the body. Finally, the skull rolls to her and she steps on it.

Cassie Cage's fatality is a bit on the icky side. She first shoots both legs of her enemy and then a headshot. The blood squirts out of the poor victim and she uses her bubble gum taken from her mouth to plug the hole.

Another more disgusting fatality in Mortal Kombat X is Kotal Kahn's. He slashes his enemy's chest using his blade and then grabs the heart. He holds the heart up and squishes it while drinking the dripping blood.

Sub-Zero's fatality is cringe-worthy in the sense that it really looks like it hurts a lot, without showing a bloody scene. He freezes the torso of his enemy and shatters it, leaving only the spinal cord. He then lifts up the enemy and snaps the spinal cord, also dividing the body in half.

Mortal Kombat X has other things too besides violence. For instance, some banters between characters before starting a fight are quite humorous. For instance, Kung Lao asks Kitana if she's "looking for a challenge," Kitana answers with "Yes, but you'll do."

The much anticipated Mortal Kombat X is available for Microsoft Windows, iOS, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One.
