Comedy actress Roseanne Barr recently revealed that she is going blind.
In an interview with The Daily Beast, Barr confirmed that she is suffering from macular degeneration and glaucoma.
"My vision is closing in now. It's something weird. But there are other weird things. That one's harsh, 'cause I read a lot, and then I thought, 'Well, I guess I could hire somebody to read for me and to read to me.' But I like words and I like looking. You do what you have to do, I just try and enjoy vision as much as possible - y'know, living it up. My dad had it too," she told the publication.
Barr, who smokes marijuana as a means of relieving the pressure in her eyes, also defended her use of the drug, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"It's expansive. It opens your mind. You're like, wow, you're in awe. You look up into the stars. It makes you wonder. It doesn't close that down," she said.
As of late, Barr's doctors have not yet given her an exact timeline as to when she can lose her sight completely.
Meanwhile, the actress was recently spotted at the Tribeca Film Festival to support her documentary, "Roseanne For President!"
Eric Weinrib's film chronicled Barr's unsuccessful attempt at becoming a 2012 presidential nominee of the Green Party. Eventually, Barr became the presidential nominee of The Peace and Freedom Party.
When asked whether or not she still thinks the Green Party should have taken her on because she's a celebrity, Barr said, "In some ways it should have counted for more, in that I knew I had been a man who had accomplished the things I accomplished in television. I think they would have been more respectful towards me."
