When "Grey's Anatomy" Season 11 resumes with Episode 21, Patrick Dempsey's Derek Shepherd takes the center-stage. The upcoming segment is titled "How to Save a Life" and will focus on Derek and his heroic acts as he gets into action to save lives after witnessing a spine-chilling tragedy. In Episode 20, Meredith tried to contact her husband, but he remained unreachable. His absence caused immense panic. Meanwhile, the cliffhanger at the end of the segment prompted speculations suggesting Derek might already be dead.
But Derek is doing well and he is alive, assures the synopsis and latest promo videos for "Grey's Anatomy" Season 11 Episode 21. ABC has released the synopsis for "How to Save a Life" on its official website hinting where Derek has been.
According to the press release, another disaster takes place in the upcoming episode. Derek reportedly witnesses an appalling accident involving two cars. Immediately, he gets into action to save the lives of the horribly wounded victims of the accident.
A promo video (as published on YouTube.com by Television Promos) gives a glimpse of the events of the "How to Save a Life." It is the episode "America will never forget," says the voiceover in the video.
Second promo video (as published on YouTube.com by Bluesky6134) showcases how the car accident took place and where he was when it happened. Derek is driving to the airport while he is speaking to Amelia and Bailey on the phone. Derek's call gets disconnected and he sees a car at really high-speed passes him by.
