Josh Trank's upcoming blockbuster "Fantastic Four" has thrilled its fans with the dynamics among the actors as well as the special effects in its arsenal. However, Trank's name has been recently tied to issues concerning his directorship over the second "Star Wars" anthology film.
Trank was not seen in Anaheim for the 2015 Star Wars Celebration, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
The film maker said that he was sick; however, sources said that Lucasfilm studio had asked him not to attend while it is making its decision whether to push the second "Star Wars" spinoff with the director.
Few issues have been noted on Trank as the director of "Fantastic Four."
First, as much a $100,000 worth of damage has been done by Trank's dogs to a house that Trank rented in New Oreleans. The said damage to the property is to be Trank's responsibility.
Another issue is Trank being "erratic" and "very isolated" during the production of "Fantastic Four," which reportedly hassled to unclear and indistinct directions.
It was also reported that the producer-screenwriter Simon Kinberg and producer Hutch Parker often had to be in charge of matters such as principal photography and reshoots for "Fantastic Four," which were set for Trank.
Kinberg and Parker were reported to be heavily involved with the reshoots, causing a conflict with their duties on Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse."
Trank's aspiration to work on "original creative opportunities" was his reason for dropping his "Star Wars" anthology film, as per Screen Rant. However, this also indicates that he will not be helming a sequel of Fantastic Four.
At this point, Trank and Lucasfilm have agreed to part ways. While Trank continues with the production of the upcoming "Fantastic Four," Lucasfilm has to search for a new director for its second "Star Wars" anthology film.
"Fantastic Four" is slated to premiere in theaters on Aug. 7.
