According to a report by Reuters, Vergara's star on Hollywood Boulevard is number 2,551. This puts her in league with an exclusive number of entertainers that have made a lasting impact in the industry.

Vergara has been the highest paid actress in the United States television for the past three years. She is one of the main characters in the Emmy award-winning series "Modern Family," in which she plays the character of Gloria Delgado, a Colombian immigrant who found her way to the U.S. thanks to her marriage to rich closet magnate Jay Pritchett.

Incidentally, while Vergara is conquering Hollywood, her on-screen counterpart is also living the American Dream. In last week's episode of "Modern Family," Gloria finally gained her U.S. citizenship after years of dreaming about it.

Of course, Vergara did not fail to thank the show that made her a household name.

"The first thanks I have to give is to Modern Family," E! News quoted Vergara as saying, "If they had not invented Gloria Pritchett, I wouldn't be here. I owe everything that I have been able to do in the American market to this amazing character."

Vergara's fiancé Joe Manganiello accompanied her for the ceremony where she unveiled her star. Her "Modern Family" co-stars were also present including the show's creators Chris Lloyd and Steven Levitan. She also thanked her only son Manolo who also works with her as part of the crew for the show.

While Manganiello and Vergara appeared to be happily enjoying the ceremony together, the latter is facing some problems with her former fiancé, Nick Loeb. Before getting together with Manganiello, Vergara was engaged to Loeb. The two of them are now embroiled in a legal battle concerning the custody of a pair of frozen fertilized embryos that they conceived via in vitro fertilization.
